What we can do for you

If you live or work in Fife then whoever you are, whatever the problem, we’re here to help.

Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) provides free information and advice on a wide range of subjects – pretty much anything you might care to think of! We are well known for our welfare benefits and debt and money advice but also provide support to clients across a huge range of other topics that include work, consumer issues, relationship issues, housing, the law and your rights, discrimination, tax, healthcare and education

Our team of skilled and trained advisers recognise that one problem is often linked to another so, rather than simply focusing in on one single problem, we will look at the bigger picture. This can allow us to identify and even prevent other problems which can stop them escalating into anything more serious.

Take control through CARF

There are a number of different ways that the team at CARF can help you solve your problems. We won’t tell you what to do – that’s your choice – but we will explain your options and what the possible outcomes you might expect if you choose a particular course of action. We want to empower you to take control of your situation and get the best possible outcome for yourself.

And maybe next time you have a problem, you’ll be able to take action by yourself or get help sooner, which may which may well make it easier to deal with.

Solving problems – for everyone

As well as working with our clients to solve their problems, there’s more to what CARF does. We take the information provided to us by clients (always protecting your identity), anonymise it and then use it as evidence to show problems that affect lots of people.

This evidence makes it possible for us to campaign for policy changes where they’re needed. We work locally and nationally to highlight issues that affect people’s lives, joining together with Citizens Advice Scotland and other citizens advice bureaux across the UK to have a more powerful voice on your behalf.

This can help us to identify and even prevent other problems occurring.  This could stop them escalating into anything more serious.
