Customers calling Fife Council on Saturday morning, 17 March, may experience difficulty getting through because of essential maintenance work to our computer system.
Council Customer Services Manager Diarmuid Cotter explains what’s happening. “On Saturday morning essential work is being done on our computer system,” he said, “This means callers might get the engaged tone when they phone and have to call us back.
“Normally, calls would be in a queuing system with a recorded message and put on hold until the first available customer services adviser was free. This option won’t be available on Saturday morning.
“At the weekend it’s only emergency calls we deal with so the volume of calls is much less but nonetheless there may be some people who can’t get through first time.
“We hope disruption to service will be minimal. Our normal service will be back up and running on Saturday afternoon.”
If you need to contact Fife Council, in addition to phoning us you can do a variety of things online including reporting a bin problem, street lighting or road fault or making a complaint at www.fifedirect.org.uk You can also email your enquiry to fife.council@fife.gov.uk
